Trade: Jones for Winch Monday, August 1st , 2039 Miami and St. Louis made a trade today. In this move, the Marlins shipped 32-year old RHP Eric Jones to the Cardinals for 19-year old minor league RHP Joey Winch. The Miami GM told reporters, "I think this trade is beneficial to everyone involved, including the players." This year Jones has collected 1 save in 36 relief appearances. He has also compiled a 3-5 won-lost mark with a 4.50 ERA and fanned 67 batters in 44 innings. Opponents are hitting him at a .259 clip in 2039. |
