Spiders Deal Erwin to Rockies for Byrd Thursday, July 28th , 2039 In a move that has fans in both cities buzzing, the Cleveland Spiders and the Colorado Rockies have agreed to a deal that will have 28-year old RHP Juan Gutierrez, 21-year old minor league CF Rick Lurte, 23-year old minor league CF Jeff Jones, 22-year old minor league RHP Jose Tiffer, and 25-year old minor league LHP Brad Erwin heading to Colorado in exchange for 32-year old RHP Bob Wolt and 30-year old LHP Jon Byrd. Provided they pass a physical, the players should be with their respective teams in time for tomorrow's games. During this season he has made 54 relief appearances, earning a 3-3 record with 1 save. In 68.1 innings Byrd has struck out 83 with a 3.42 ERA. |
