Giants Sneak Past Astros, 2-1
|
Houston wasted a solid 6-inning effort from starting pitcher Isaias Orta, losing to San Francisco, 2-1, at Oracle Park. Mike Marston picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Andry Lara was tagged with the loss. The win gives San Francisco a record of 15-11.
The Giants relied on center fielder Josh Pearce for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the 13th, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring double to seal the deal.
"We had a chance to win," said Houston manager Aaron Shafer, "but we didn't get it done."
