Mariners Bridle Outlaws, 4-3
|
The Seattle Mariners defeated the Nashville Outlaws, 4-3, in National League action at HCA Park. Seattle pitcher Mike Parga had a standout performance. In 5 innings, Parga surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 4. He allowed no runs. Danny Alfaro recorded the save, his 5th.
Seattle used the timely hitting of Jimmy Bush to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Mariners ahead, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
Bush said his team "played with focus."
Seattle is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 10th in 25 games.
