2-1 Win Gets Philadelphia to 15-9
|
The Philadelphia Phillies and Miami Marlins put on a pitchers' duel.
The Philadelphia Phillies eked out a 2-1 win versus the Miami Marlins at Marlins Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Edwin Davila. He was terrific. Davila got the win, improving to 2-3. He allowed 7 hits and walked 1 over 6.1 innings. Davila allowed 1 run.
It could have been a different outcome for Philadelphia, had it not been for Chris Burnes, the 33-year old first baseman . Burnes contributed a solo home run in the top of the first inning to put Philadelphia up, 1-0.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Burnes told reporters after the game.
The Marlins fall to 9-15 and continue their lackluster start to the 2039 season.
