Spiders Earn 7-4 Win Versus New York
|
The Cleveland Spiders got a rain-soaked win over the New York Yankees.
The Cleveland Spiders defeated the New York Yankees, 7-4, in American League action at Progressive Field. Cleveland pitcher Adrian Nevarez had a standout performance. Getting the save was Keith Tate, his 6th.
Early in the game, center fielder Johnny Tovar had a 3-run home run for Cleveland. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Spiders on top, 4-1.
"Adrian was throwing free and easy," said Cleveland manager Adam Wainwright.
Despite the loss, New York is still 16-7.
