The Boston Red Sox beat the Chicago White Sox, 7-6, at Fenway Park. Boston left fielder Pat Carlson had an outstanding performance. He was 1 for 3 with a double and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. The win was credited to Mario Bravo in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Steve Roice took the loss. Boston is now 14-10.
The Red Sox got a big at-bat from right fielder Jo Adell. For the game, Adell went 2 for 4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season gave Boston a 6-4 lead.
"Winning never gets dull," said Carlson.
