Brewers Upend Spiders, 3-2
|
Progressive Field was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Milwaukee Brewers and Cleveland Spiders.
In a low-scoring affair between the Milwaukee Brewers and the Cleveland Spiders, pitcher Constantin Nita was the difference between victory and defeat. The Milwaukee right-hander earned accolades in the 3-2 Brewers win. In 5.2 innings, Nita surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs.
Milwaukee used the timely hitting of Ben Crocker to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Brewers ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"I made some pitches when I had to," said Nita.
The win brings the Brewers to 8-6, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
