San Diego Keeps Trending in Wrong Direction

The losses keep piling up for the San Diego Padres.
The Kansas City Royals beat the San Diego Padres, 5-2, at Petco Park. Kansas City third baseman Jim Morales had an outstanding performance. He hit 2 home runs. The winning pitcher was 25-year old right-handed pitcher Jim Henry. He tossed 80 pitches over 5.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 2 hits. Sean Silva notched his 1st save of the season.
Josh McGinley had a big 2-run home run for the Royals in the top of the third inning. With Kansas City leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a sinker from 28-year old left-handed pitcher Mike Hurd and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Royals on top, 4-0.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Kansas City manager Steven Ames.
Kansas City, now 4-9, is off to a slow start.
