Phillies Tagged with 3-1 Loss
|
The San Francisco Giants got a stellar performance from pitcher Tyler Gough, who handcuffed the Philadelphia offense en route to a win, 3-1, at Oracle Park. The save was credited to Josh Romero, his 5th. Philadelphia falls to 7-6.
The Giants got a big at-bat from left fielder Michael Rios. For the game, Rios went 1-4 with a double. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 2nd double of the season gave San Francisco a 2-1 lead.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Gough. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
