New York pitcher Dave Grooms did his part in helping his team beat the Minnesota Twins, 7-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The hot start continues for the defending champion Yankees. This was their 8th win in 11 games.

Jimmy Cason, the 2nd overall pick in the 2036 draft, aided the New York cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the shortstop drove in one run.

Cason called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
