Phillies Come Back Late to Clip Mets
|
The Philadelphia Phillies eked out a 1-0 win versus the New York Mets at Citizens Bank Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Jose Arias. He was terrific. The winner was Philadelphia reliever Mike Daugherty, now 1-0. The loser was Maurizio Menocchio. New York is now 2-6.
Marcus Lee Sang was the walk-off hero for Philadelphia. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Phillies left fielder hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Philadelphia manager Matt Hagen.
