Minnesota picked up a win at Globe Life Field, toppling the Texas Rangers, 6-5. Pitcher Joe O'Neill was one of the reasons the Twins triumphed. Steve Shelton earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed 2 runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. Victor Zayas collected save number 2.

This game was not decided until Bobby Menjivar came to bat in the top of the ninth. With a runner on 3rd and one out, the Minnesota left fielder hit a sacrifice fly. The Twins took the lead, 6-5.

"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said O'Neill.

The win leaves Minnesota with a record of 4-3.
