Spiders Top Blue Jays in Extras, 4-2
|
The Cleveland Spiders beat the Toronto Blue Jays, 4-2, at Progressive Field. The Spiders got a fine performance from first baseman Jose Murillo, who was 2-3 with a double and a walk. The win was credited to Keith Tate in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Donnie Brown took the loss. Cleveland goes to 3-0 with the win.
Cleveland won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With two outs and Donnie Brown on the mound for Toronto, left fielder Dylan Carmouche hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Spiders fans to their feet.
Murillo said he was "thrilled" the fans had something to get excited about.
