Yankees Take Down Nationals, 3-2
|
The New York Yankees eked out a 3-2 win versus the Washington Nationals at Yankee Stadium. Nobody did more than second baseman Beyker Pastran. He was terrific. Chris Stuart, now 1-0, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 2 and walking 0. Brandon Barriera recorded the save for New York, his 2nd of the season.
The game was all tied up in the bottom of the eighth, until Pastran delivered big-time for New York, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Danny Alvarez. The game-changing hit put the Yankees on top, 3-2.
"It was a solid team effort," said Pastran after the game.
The Yankees, now 2-0, have been playing some good baseball.
