The Cincinnati Reds topped the Texas Rangers, 11-5, in National League action at Great American Ball Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Cincinnati first baseman Juan Figueroa. Orlando Olvera, the winner, improved to 8-1. He held Texas to 3 runs on 5 hits over 7 innings, while racking up 13 strikeouts. With the victory, the Reds upped their record to 83-66.

Cincinnati grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With no one out and the bases loaded, Joe Blankenship delivered a 2-run single, to make it 5-3 in favor of the Reds.

"It feels good to get this one," Figueroa told the Cincinnati Daily.
