Reds Need Extra Innings to Top Cubs, 7-5
|
The Cincinnati Reds saddled the Chicago Cubs with a loss at Wrigley Field. The final score was 7-5. Tim Lutz was 3 for 6, including 2 singles and 1 home run. The Cincinnati designated hitter scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Cincinnati now has a record of 79-61 with the win.
Lutz had a game-changing home run in the top of the 11th. On a 2-0 sinker from Devin Zietz, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Reds a 7-5 lead. It was the 52nd home run of the year for Lutz.
"Our guys refused to lose," said Lutz.
