Marlins Need Extra Innings to Top Giants, 6-3
|
Miami pitcher Tony Porraz did his part in helping his team beat the San Francisco Giants, 6-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Miami reliever Emmanuel Pio was credited with the win, to go to 1-1. Danny Medina took the loss for San Francisco. San Francisco has now lost 4 straight.
Miami needed the clutch hitting of Geoff Donah to notch the win. The right fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the 15th inning to put the Marlins on top, 6-3. For the game, Donah had 1 home run and 1 single in 7 at-bats.
In postgame comments, Porraz said he was glad to contribute to an exciting win.
