Tampa Bay Fall Again, 5-4
|
The Houston Astros did just enough to secure a victory over the Tampa Bay Rays, 5-4, at Tropicana Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Pat Reeves. The win was credited to Greg McKinley in relief. His record improves to 1-3. Ricky Trejo took the loss. Angel Lopez notched his 3rd save in 6 chances.
Bob Barraza had a key at-bat with one out in the top of the seventh for Houston. With the bases loaded and the Astros leading 3-2, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said Tampa Bay manager Tony Mansolino.
Tampa Bay, at 43-86, has lost 6 straight.
