Athletics Hand Yankees 4-1 Loss
|
Kevin Rowland never let the Yankees get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his curveball, to pitch the Athletics to a win, 4-1. Rowland, now 4-0, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 1 hit, while striking out 7, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. The third-place Athletics have won 4 straight.
Doug Yoder tagged a home run off Danny Valdez in the top of the sixth. His 2-run blast put the Athletics on top, 3-1. In all, Yoder had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
Rowland said his team "executed a good game plan."
