The Houston Astros beat the New York Mets, 6-1, at Minute Maid Park. Starting pitcher Andry Lara was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Jared Krajenka closed the game out for Houston, earning his 14th save. The Astros go to 65-59, putting them 6th in the National League West Division.

Josh McCoy put Houston in front, 4-0, when he took Jorge Lopez downtown. His 3-run home run came with two out in the bottom of the third. It was his 32nd home run of the season.

"I take a professional approach to my job," said Lara. "I've been around this game for a while."
