Astros Lose Late, 4-2
|
Getting a good performance from third baseman Dan Serratos, the New York Mets defeated the Houston Astros, 4-2. Serratos went 1 for 2 with 3 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Mets. The win was credited to Danny Miller in relief. His record improves to 3-2. Greg McKinley took the loss. New York, now 51-69, holds down 7th place in the National League East Division.
New York used the timely hitting of Manny Adames to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Mets on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We're scuffling right now," said losing manager Aaron Shafer.
