The Minnesota Twins and Kansas City Royals were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

The Kansas City Royals used an offensive barrage to beat the Minnesota Twins, 10-1, at Target Field. Tony Saxon led the way, going 3-for-5 for Kansas City. Mel Squire earned the win for Kansas City. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 1 run on 7 hits, while striking out 5. With the win, he raised his record to 6-10. Andres Ugarte got the save, his 1st in 1 chances.

Tyler Baron hit a bases-clearing double off Joe O'Neill in the top of the third, which put the Royals in front, 3-0. In addition to the double, Baron had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 4.
