New York Tops Montreal Again, 6-3
|
Riding the 4-hit performance of second baseman Beyker Pastran, the New York Yankees stopped the visiting Montreal Expos, 6-3, in Game 2 of the League Championship Series today. Pastran went 4 for 5 with 4 singles for the Yankees, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 0.
In the bottom of the fourth, New York first baseman Manny Guevara had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and no one out, Guevara stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 5-3, New York. For the game, he went 2 for 5 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs.
"It was a good day but I'm not letting my guard down," Pastran said. "I'll let my guard down as soon as someone puts a big, fat championship ring on my finger."
The next game is set to be played for Friday, October 22nd , 2038 at Gary Carter Field in Montreal.
