Outlaws Topple Astros, 9-8, as Leyva Shines
In a high-scoring game between Nashville and Houston, first baseman Manny Leyva was a difference-maker. The 30-year-old helped Nashville grab the 9-8 win. He belted 3 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored three times. Tim Spencer earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. He upped his record to 3-0. Joe Veihl, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 22nd save.

In the bottom of the seventh, the Outlaws grabbed the lead when Leyva hit his 23rd home run of the season. The 2-run home run off Mike Simpkins made it 9-8, Nashville.

"We'll take this win and move on," said Leyva.

The Outlaws are now 48-70, while the Astros fall to 64-57.
