Los Angeles Angels pitcher Gabe Baldwin whisked his team past the Texas Rangers, 2-0. Steve Anderson earned the save for Los Angeles, his 16th of the year.

Baldwin imposed his will on the Rangers, scattering 6 hits over 8 innings while striking out 8. The right-hander upped his season record to 7-15.

"It's no secret that good defense follows around people who throw strikes," said Los Angeles manager Luis Bolivar.
