Almost There: Philadelphia On Cusp of LCS Triumph After 6-4 Win
|
When the games really matter, the Philadelphia Phillies put on their best show, beating the Los Angeles Dodgers by a final score of 6-4 today. Oscar Pinto belted 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Philadelphia now leads Los Angeles 3-1 in the best-of-7 affair.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With one out, Pinto hit a fastball from Chris Chambers for a 2-run home run. The Phillies, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"We haven't stopped playing," Los Angeles manager Mitch Stallings said. "We didn't get this far to give up."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.
