The New York Mets wasted no time taking the lead in the Division Series, beating the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park by the score of 7-4. The win gives New York a 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Mets right-hander Jake Berlin threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball.

New York used a well-timed hit by Ben Sweeney to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Mets ahead, 3-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Sweeney told the New York Chronicle.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati.
