Pacific Coast League fans were certainly not disappointed with this American Conference Round 1.

The two teams were evenly matched and the series went to the final game, with the Iowa Cubs prevailing over the Round Rock Express to advance to the Round 2.

Iowa won the final game by a score of 9-1 at Dell Diamond and that sealed the series 3-2.

"Things were tense in our clubhouse and dugout before and during this game, but we can let loose a bit now -- the hard work is over, for now," said third baseman Joe Przepiora, who earned MVP honors.

For the series, Przepiora hit .438 with a .444 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, 7 RBI and scored 6 runs.

The Iowa Cubs will play against the Tacoma Rainiers in the next round. Tacoma won their series against the Las Vegas Aviators 3 games to 0. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
