Mariners Go Down to Defeat, 2-1
|
T-Mobile Park was the site of a remarkable pitchers' duel.
Houston used a superb performance from starting pitcher Angel Velasco to down the Seattle Mariners, 2-1. Houston is now 64-54, while Seattle is 49-67.
Jonas Ramos took Mike Knapp deep in the top of the sixth. His solo home run put the Astros on top, 2-1. In all, Ramos had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.
"That's baseball," said Seattle manager John Foley. "Sometimes the other team plays better than yours."
