Cardinals Earn 2-1 Win Versus Yankees
|
The St. Louis Cardinals got a magnificent performance from pitcher Alex Fierro, who muffled the New York offense en route to a tight 2-1 Cardinals win at Busch Stadium. With the win, St. Louis has a record of 62-50. New York falls to 68-43.
St. Louis won the game in the bottom of the 13th inning. With two outs and Chris Stuart on the mound for New York, right fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Cardinals fans to their feet.
"It's great to see the crowd jacked up," Crow-Armstrong said.
