Spiders Win League Championship Series
|
The Cleveland Spiders clubhouse was filled with glee and celebration tonight, while the Los Angeles Angels room was filled with despair and sadness after the League Championship Series concluded.
"Someone's got to win and someone's got to lose, we're just glad we're on the good end of it tonight and can enjoy this," said Cody Bellinger, who was named MVP for a strong series of offensive performance.
Cleveland won the final game by a 8-5 count at Angel Stadium of Anaheim and the series 4-1.
Los Angeles manager Billy McMillon was simple and to-the-point in his assessment of the series.
"They were the better team and deserve to move on," he said.
For the series, Bellinger hit .348 with a .375 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 8 RBI and scored 6 runs.
The Cleveland Spiders don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Atlanta Braves - Colorado Rockies series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece. The World Series is scheduled to begin on October 28th , 2026.
