Red Sox Subdue St. Louis, 6-4
|
Conditions were not ideal but Boston and St. Louis were able to put their game in the books.
Getting a good performance from designated hitter Tony Ramos, the Boston Red Sox defeated the St. Louis Cardinals, 6-4. Ramos went 3-4 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Red Sox. The first-place Red Sox have a one-game lead in their division.
Boston took a 4-3 lead on Reginald Preciado's 30th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Preciado hit in the bottom of the seventh, left St. Louis pitcher Michael Davinni shaking his head.
"I still think this team can play even better," Ramos told the Boston News.
