Delgado slugs 2 home runs to Power Blue Jays Offense
|
Vinny Delgado was a major factor in the 6-5 Toronto win over St. Louis. The Blue Jays second baseman was 3-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Toronto reliever Nelson Sanchez picked up the win, raising his record to 3-0. Josh Lindenthal was tagged with the loss. The Blue Jays raised their record to 46-59.
Delgado came through with some timely hitting for Toronto. With St. Louis trailing 3-2 in the top of the sixth, Delgado hit a 1-0 cutter for a grand slam home run. His 8th home run of the season made it 6-3, Toronto.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Toronto manager Justin Anderson.
