Nationals Get One-Run Win at Seattle
|
The Washington Nationals and Seattle Mariners put on a pitchers' duel.
Washington Nationals starter Dave Woodrum pitched a strong game against the Seattle Mariners at T-Mobile Park, leading the Nationals to victory, 2-1. Woodrum picked up the win for Washington, going 6 innings. He gave up no runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 11-5.
Washington used a well-timed hit by Ian Peters to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Nationals ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"We just didn't score enough runs to win," said Seattle manager John Foley.
Washington has an impressive 69-34 record.
