Giants Win at Houston, 3-2
|
The San Francisco Giants picked up a win at Minute Maid Park, knocking off the Houston Astros, 3-2. On the mound for San Francisco was right-hander Javon Dill, who played a pivotal role in the win. Dill, now 15-5, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 6, walking 0, and allowing 2 runs. With the victory, the Giants upped their record to 64-38.
Alex Reyna, the 22-year old shortstop , had a direct impact on the outcome. Reyna contributed a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put San Francisco up, 3-2.
"We'll hit the hot tub in good spirits tonight," said Dill.
