Cubs Beat Rays, 7-1
|
The Chicago Cubs bested the Tampa Bay Rays, 7-1, at Wrigley Field. Chris Burch was one of the standouts. He went 2-3 with a double and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Eric Buchanan snagged the win in relief. In 2.1 innings, the left-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit. He's now 2-1 on the season. With the win, the Cubs sit at 59-43.
Chicago took a 4-1 lead on Burch's 20th double of the season. The 2-run double, which he hit off Clint Jones in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Chicago to the win.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Burch said.
