Cleveland and Boston duked it out and the Spiders came out victorious.
Led by Jason Colvin, the Cleveland Spiders downed the Boston Red Sox, 6-3. Colvin was 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 3 for the Spiders. Dave Bailey picked up the win, improving his season record to 7-7. He struck out 9 in 5.2 innings. Keith Tate recorded the save, making him 26 for 28.
With Cleveland leading 2-0 in the bottom of the second, Colvin hit a cutter from Manny Ochoa for a 2-run home run. It was his 38th home run of the season and put the Spiders ahead, 4-0.
