Astros Deal Reds 5-2 Defeat
|
The Houston Astros took Cincinnati pitcher Bernie Acevedo's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Minute Maid Park. The final score had Houston getting past the Reds, 5-2. Acevedo went 5.2 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 6. The Astros raised their record to 52-46.
Had Jordan Villa not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Villa hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Astros.
"Winning never gets dull," said Villa.
