Marlins Rally to Eke Out Win
|
Philadelphia got a big-time effort from pitcher Jose Arias, but it wasn't enough to keep the Miami Marlins from winning the game, 3-2. Arias threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. The Marlins improved to 43-53.
The Marlins procured the win, in large part because of shortstop Joe Holiday. In the bottom of the 13th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
"I was a little disappointed," said Philadelphia manager Matt Hagen. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
