Vasquez, Twins Beat Blue Jays, 4-3
|
The Minnesota Twins topped the Toronto Blue Jays, 4-3, with center fielder Juan Vasquez playing a big role. Vasquez went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 doubles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Twins in the win. Minnesota leads the American League West Division by 10½ games.
Minnesota grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Vasquez, who is tied for 5th in the AL in RBI with 69, hit a run-scoring double. His 13th double of the season put the Twins out in front, 3-2.
After the game, Minnesota manager Hunter Bailey applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
