With 6-5 Win, Cardinals Improve to 50-44
|
The St. Louis Cardinals did just enough to sneak past the Baltimore Orioles, 6-5, at Busch Stadium. St. Louis pitcher Hee-seop Kim, in particular, had a standout performance. In 5 innings, Kim surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. He allowed 3 runs. With the win, St. Louis upped its record to 50-44.
Jim Lagasse drove in one run for St. Louis. The 27-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Eric Schrage. It was his 34th RBI of the season.
"It feels good to get this one," Kim told the St. Louis Gazette.
