Big Day for Cribbs as Yankees Down Angels, 15-6
|
The New York Yankees beat the Los Angeles Angels, 15-6, at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Jim Cribbs, in particular, was impressive. He went 3-4 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 5. Joel Dunlap earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. His record is now 3-3. The Yankees have an impressive 57-33 record.
New York relied on the hitting of Jimmy Cason to pick up the win. The shortstop ripped a bases-clearing triple in the top of the third inning to put the Yankees on top, 7-3. For the game, Cason had 1 triple and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Cason.
