Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Seattle Mariners. St. Louis won it, 1-0. St. Louis starter Tomás Givotovsky was in command. Jonathan Knudsen notched his 2nd save in 4 chances. The 6th-place Cardinals lifted their record to 46-42.
Givotovsky, now 11-2, scattered 2 hits over 7.1 innings for the Cardinals.
