Nationals Rally For Late Win Over Blue Jays
|
Washington got a strong outing from Andy Foley as the Nationals defeated the Toronto Blue Jays, 5-2, at Nationals Park. Mike Van Vliet snagged the win in relief. In 1.2 innings, the right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits. He's now 3-1 on the season. Washington has run its win streak to 5 in a row.
Mike Pfarr took Mike Roar deep in the bottom of the eighth. His 2-run home run put the Nationals on top, 2-1. In all, Pfarr had 2 singles in addition to the home run, while going 3 for 4.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Foley told the Washington Daily News.
