Ruiz Slugs Rockies to 6-4 Win
|
No one was more impactful than Jorge Ruiz in the 6-4 Colorado win over New York. Ruiz, who leads the AL in stolen bases with 24, went 2-5 with 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Colorado reliever Maurizio Menocchio picked up the win, raising his record to 2-2. Joel Dunlap was tagged with the loss. Colorado has 3 straight wins, New York 3 straight losses.
Ruiz had a timely hit for Colorado in the top of the sixth. With New York trailing 3-2, he turned a 1-1 sinker into a grand slam home run. It was his 17th home run of the season, making it 6-3, Colorado.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Ruiz said.
