Spiders Score Late, Upend Twins, 6-2
|
Cleveland picked up a win at Target Field, toppling the Minnesota Twins, 6-2. Pitcher Mike Sublette was one of the reasons the Spiders triumphed. Cleveland reliever Geoff Cushner picked up the win, upping his record to 4-1. Victor Zayas took the loss. The win gives Cleveland a season record of 48-33.
Cleveland relied on the bat of Josh Benson to get the win. The designated hitter ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Spiders ahead, 3-2. For the game, Benson had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"It was a good win," said Cleveland manager Adam Wainwright. "Not without blemish, but good."
