The Houston Astros trumped the Tampa Bay Rays, 12-8, at Minute Maid Park. Houston first baseman Bob Barraza was terrific. He hit 3 home runs. He scored 4 times and drove in 4. Houston has a 6-game win streak, while Tampa Bay has lost 7 in a row.

Barraza contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Houston in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 5-4, Barraza took a fastball from Jose Silva and stroked the home run to right. His 14th home run of the season allowed the Astros to leap in front, 6-5.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Barraza.
