Mets Drop Reds, 3-0
|
New York and Cincinnati duked it out and the Mets came out victorious.
New York got a strong outing from Jake Berlin as the Mets defeated the Cincinnati Reds, 3-0, at Great American Ball Park. Berlin picked up the win for New York, going 6.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 6-4. Phil Brady was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 2 of 2 save opportunities.
It could have been a different outcome for New York, had it not been for Zayne Sorto, the 30-year old left fielder . Sorto contributed a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put New York up, 2-0.
"The hot tub feels extra good after a solid win," said Sorto.
Cincinnati has now lost 4 straight.
