A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Arizona Diamondbacks and Cincinnati Reds.

The Arizona Diamondbacks defeated the Cincinnati Reds, 5-3, in American League action at Chase Field. Arizona pitcher Eric Donahue had a standout performance. Donahue picked up the win for Arizona, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 8 hits. He now sports a record of 3-2. Gannon Drier got credit for the save for Arizona. It was his 14th of the year.

With Arizona trailing 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, the Diamondbacks fortunes got a boost when third baseman Willie Revilla turned a 1-1 splitter from John Hill into his 7th home run of the season. The hit scored 3 and put Arizona up, 3-1.

"We take it day by day here," said Donahue, "and today was a good one for us."

Arizona goes to 37-40, Cincinnati to 42-34.
